Pancake Races

We were lucky enough to return to All Saints’ church to celebrate Shrove Tuesday with pancake races followed by pancakes in the church which was organised by Reverend Mitch and a team of volunteers from Heathfield Benefice. Much fun was had by all and in the staff competitions, Mr Toms only narrowly beat Mrs Collier and Mitch just pipped me to the post as well! In school, we have been exploring the important meanings behind Shrove Tuesday and the period of Lent – the children told me of their plans to give up TV, gaming and chocolate – I hope that’s working out well!!
